Hevy, Strong, JEFIT und Fitbod sind gute Apps. Sie wollen nur etwas anderes sein als gymLog — und kosten dafür Geld.
Angaben geprüft am 16. August 2026 anhand der Seiten im deutschen App Store. Preise, Sprachen und Datenschutzangaben stammen von den App-Store-Seiten der jeweiligen App, die Android-Angabe von der Herstellerseite. Konto, Verbindung, Sperrbildschirm und Datenexport habe ich selbst am Gerät ausprobiert. Legacy-Preise sind nicht mitgezählt, die bekommt ein neuer Nutzer nicht mehr.

Wo gymLog verliert, steht es drin: keine Synchronisierung zwischen Geräten, kein Android. Zwei Dinge fehlen darüber hinaus ganz — Übungsvideos in der App und fertige Trainingspläne.

Hevy, Strong, JEFIT and Fitbod are good apps. They just want to be something other than gymLog, and they charge for it.
Checked on 16 August 2026 against the pages in the German App Store. Prices, languages and privacy details come from each app’s App Store page, the Android entry from the maker’s own site. Account, connection, Lock Screen and data export I tried out myself on the device. Legacy prices are not counted, a new user cannot get them any more.

„being checked“ means: the value only goes in here once an App Store page backs it up. Nothing in this table is invented.
Where gymLog loses, it says so: no sync between devices, no Android. Two more things are missing entirely, exercise videos in the app and ready-made training plans.

gymLog ist nichts für dich, wenn …
- … die App dir sagen soll, was du trainieren sollst. gymLog schreibt mit, es plant nicht.
- … du einen Feed und eine Community willst. Es gibt keine.
- … du Übungsvideos in der App brauchst. Es gibt keine.
- … du auf mehreren Geräten gleichzeitig trainierst. Es gibt keine Synchronisierung.
Dann bist du bei Hevy, Strong, JEFIT oder Fitbod besser aufgehoben — im Ernst.

gymLog is not for you if …
- … you want the app to tell you what to train. gymLog writes things down, it does not plan.
- … you want a feed and a community. There is none.
- … you need exercise videos in the app. There are none.
- … you train on several devices at once. There is no sync.
Then you are better off with Hevy, Strong, JEFIT or Fitbod. Seriously.
